Wait, who am I?

Hey there, I'm Niki!

And I’m a producer and story artist from The Netherlands. In 2020 I graduated from the bachelor’s Illustrated and Animated Storytelling at AKV | St. Joost in Breda. I’m a real social butterfly and jack-of-all-trades who works intuitively, is flexible and picks up new programs and skills very quickly which allows me to continuously challenge myself and tackle every opportunity in a new and innovative way.

By wandering around and collecting stories and experiences, I’m able to translate big themes into small stories that can range from taboos to your favorite neighbor’s dog. I create work that makes people talk, think and reflect through the narrative that is told or the medium that is used.
As a producer, production coordinator and story artist I have a broad skillset and field of interest that allows me to work in both 2D and 3D for multimedia purposes such as illustrations, animations, installations and AR / VR.

Also, have a look at my socks when you meet me. I never wear a matching pair, so it’s a daily surprise for everyone, including me, what combination I’ll be strolling down the streets in next.

“From the beginning of working with Niki we were amazed by her wide skill set across animation, creativity and production – she actually understands the technical nuts and bolts of how a project comes together and so can manage folks to a very very high level. Not only that but Niki also has a creative eye and talent so can execute artistically and collaborate with talent at the highest level. We are super excited to work with her again and jealous of whoever gets to work with her on her next step in her career.”

” Niki has been an integral part of our recruitment team since joining us at Submarine. She is a proactive, intuitive, adaptive and efficient multitasker able to seemlessly juggle a multitude of assignments (and requests on the fly). Quick-thinking and thorough, Niki also works very well independently and harmoniously with the team. She is an absolute joy.”

“Over the past year (2021), the studio and I have had the pleasure of close collaboration with Niki on this project. Her generalist skills and knowledge in digital content creation tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Autodesk Maya turned out to be invaluable. Her attention to detail and creative ingenuity helped us bring Lucy’s character to life everyday.  I can confidently say that Niki is a quick learner, enthusiastic about her work and doesn’t shy away from adapting new workflows.

I first got to know Niki back in April 2021, as we were preparing one of our biggest events even to this date: A collaboration of Lucy with the virtual influencer Code Miko Live on Twitch. As we’ve been preparing technically and creatively for this, Niki supported the team in all aspects and coordinated our efforts even while she was still onboarding. Her work included coordination with the voice actress of Lucy to make sure recordings went smoothly and were delivered in time, discuss the story, rehearse with the team in minecraft and prepare social media assets leading up to the event. Despite the time difference between the EU and the west coast, Niki was always able to adapt to changing schedules and quickly integrated herself as part of the team.

In addition, Fable asked Niki to help out with exploring a theatrical 2D adaptation of Wolves in the Walls. As part of her work Niki discussed and prepared budgets for the different stages of production. On the creative side she proved to be an amazing partner to discuss story structure, artistic intention and character arcs, always providing useful feedback as well as editing mockups of ideas in Premiere Pro.

There is no doubt regarding Niki’s wide ranging skill set in the field of animation and combined with her upbeat personality, any animation studio who is seeking a new talent in production or creative departments, will be very lucky to have her.”

“I had the pleasure of working alongside Niki for several months. During this time we worked closely on multiple projects, producing high-concept animated performances that premiered on live streaming services, such as Twitch. Niki was an absolute dream partner in these projects and, as lead producer, was integral to their success. Her most notable aptitudes included multi-faceted project management, creative analysis, complex content creation and team coordination. She helped keep us on track, while always maintaining good spirits and a positive attitude, which resonated with the rest of our team. As a colleague, Niki is always kind and considerate, while also displaying tact and assertiveness when working against tough deadlines. I couldn’t recommend Niki enough, both for her genuine talent and good nature.
